INITIATIVE:
Capacity procurement mechanism soft offer cap

Started: Jun 17, 2019

Leads
Gabe Murtaugh

The scope of this initiative includes updating the Capacity Procurement Mechanism (CPM) soft offer cap and the consideration of payments for 12-month CPM designations.

Outcome:  Through the stakeholder process, it was determined that the current soft offer cap value is still relevant to the existing grid composition; therefore the value does not need to be updated at this time. The ISO filed tariff language outlining an approach for determining the CPM compensation for resources with cost offers above the soft offer cap, which was accepted by FERC on May 29, 2020.  No system changes were implemented for this initiative.
